Hurricane Diane

The first season of The 5th & D Street Theater unveils Hurricane Diane by Madeleine George. Redwood Curtain Theatre proudly announces the highly anticipated presentation of Hurricane Diane, a captivating and thought-provoking play written by the esteemed Pulitzer Prize finalist, Madeleine George. Under the direction of Humboldt Del-Norte Film Commissioner Cassandra Hesseltine, Hurricane Diane tells the compelling tale of the Greek God Dionysus reincarnated as Diane—a clever gardener, shrouded in mystery, with a covert mission to enchant mortals and restore our planet to its natural magnificence. Starring Redwood Curtain Theatre co-founder Peggy Metzger, along with veteran theater artists Natasha White, Cynthia Martells, Caroline Needham, and Finn Ferguson. Supported by a dedicated crew including Director Substitute Morgan McBroom/CJ Brown, Stage Manager Morgan McBroom, Set Designer Bob Pickering, Lighting Designer Michael Burkhart, Sound Designer Jon Turney, Costume Designer Catherine Jenny Brown, and Properties Designer Morgan McBroom. Hurricane Diane challenges the perception of what's achievable and invites us into a hysterical world where myth and modernity collide, this offbeat comedy explores themes of environmental restoration and the enigmatic nature of humanity. Feb 18 is a masked matinee to create a safer environment for the immunocompromised and most vulnerable members of the community.
