Lansana Kouyate is a griot and balafon master from Guinea, West Africa. Miriam Djakite is a dance master and Griot from Mali, West Africa, she is the lead singer of the African psychedelic rock band orchestra gold base in the Bay Area. Gordon Hellegers is a master Kora player and student of the great Malian Kora master Tumani Djibati. For two nights they are coming together in Arcata to share with you the rich Traditional sounds of West Africa. A traditional guinea meal will be available for purchase (meat and vegetarian options)
