Do you frequent our Trinidad beaches, marvel at the iconic offshore rocks, wonder about local wildlife, and feel eager to protect and steward these coastal treasures? The Trinidad Coastal Ambassador Program is designed for community members who feel passionate about being an ambassador, or advocate, for coastal stewardship, conservation, and education. This program will introduce participants to the unique Trinidad area, the work our non-profit does and will engage participants in all the ways to be a volunteer Ambassador; from leading Stewardship Work Days, to guiding educational walks, and assisting with school field trips. This three week program will be educational and hands-on, combining Zoom sessions with field trips to coastal properties with the goal of providing opportunities for Ambassadors to enter into leadership roles centered around coastal conservation. We will learn about topics ranging from the cultural landscape of Trinidad, a geologic history of our rocky shoreline, the world of pinnipeds and lichens, as well as leadership and interpretation skills.
