Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Learn what tree rings can tell us and about the hard work that goes behind this field of study with Allyson Carroll, a dendrochronologist who works with Save the Redwoods League and who is a research associate at Humboldt State. Only recently has a network of cross-dated tree-ring chronologies been developed for coast redwood trees. Dendrochronology is the study of tree tree rings and relates to many fields of study including forestry, climate studies, and archaeology.
