Tree Planting and Art Exchange Staff Pick

The Horai Center DreamMaker Project of the Ink People, and the City of Eureka will welcome a delegation from their Sister City, Kamisu, Japan. In honor of their visit and the bond between the cities, Eureka plans to plant ten Japanese Cherry Blossom trees gifted by the city of Kamisu, Japan, in Eureka’s newly established Kamisu Park. The park, located on the south bound stretch of the Redwood Hwy. at the corner of Q st, will host the planting of the tenth tree on February, 5th. at 11am. In addition to the ceremony, the Ink People’s Tuxford Gallery will host an art exchange show throughout the month of February: Kamisu Art Exchange. Artists are encouraged to submit work in response to pieces gathered from artists in Kamisu, and both will be on display. Artists’ reception and Opening February 2nd for Arts Alive! At 525 7th Street, Eureka.
