The Harambee Camp

When: Aug. 3-6 and Aug. 10-14 2021
The Harambee Youth Connections is a restorative program available to 5 - 18 years old. We are a village for the village, which means this program is facilitated by Black indigenous People of Color in the community for youth and children that identify as BIPOC to restore reconciliation within the body. HYC includes cultural workshops such as Inspiring Art (with Bilingual creative arts and Afrocentric Art) plus Somatic Movement (which includes singing, dancing and drumming), and ethnic foods. Youth will have a chance to engage in sports activities (including large and small body movements, hiking trails and punching boxing bags), and spiritual awareness moments (that includes gardening, yoga and engaging with farm animals). Camp Dates and times 9:00 - 5:00 pm (early drop off 8:30 am) August 3 - 6 August 10 - 13, the 14 is an overnight camp sleepover. Black Beach Friday and the Rites of Passage takes place on Friday 13 The cost of the HYC is $150 per week or $200 for both weeks. HCBMAA does not turn away any child that can not pay. We offer partial and full scholarships and fundraise to pay for food, supplies and cultural bearers.
