Join the Trinidad Coastal Land Trust (TCLT) and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) biologists for a free webinar to learn the basics of local seabird nesting ecology and how you can be involved in a Community Science Seabird Monitoring Training on Thursday, February 18, 6-7 p.m. The Trinidad Coast provides essential habitat for over 100,000 nesting and breeding seabirds. These rocks are protected as part of the California Coastal National Monument, managed by the BLM, and provide one of the very last strongholds free of human influence for seabirds and other wildlife. This webinar is for anyone who marvels and wonders at the offshore rocks so iconic of our coastline. We will be learning to identify Common Murres, Pigeon Guillemots, Brants, Pelagic, and Double Crested Cormorants, as well as each of their natural histories. We will be sharing about the popular upcoming Seabird Community Science Training that empowers the community in helping us to understand the population ecology and disturbance risks to the marine wildlife that inhabits our coastline. Date: Thursday, February 18, 6-7 p.m. To register or for more information: Email michelle@trinidadcoastallandtrust.org or visit our website trinidadcoastallandtrust.org.
