Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Sea Level Rise

When: Tue., Nov. 13, 6:30-8:30 p.m. 2018
Price: Free
Scientists predict that sea level rise will affect all U.S. coastal areas. They tell us that the North Coast in general, and Humboldt Bay in particular, will see the largest increase and potentially the greatest impacts. Those impacts, and what is being done to address them, will be the topic of discussion on Tuesday, November 13 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center. A panel of experts will discuss “Local Efforts to Accommodate Sea Level Rise.” Presenters include Michael Richardson of the Humboldt County Planning Department, environmental consultant Aldaron Laird, Larry Oetker from the Humboldt Bay Harbor District, and Jennifer Kalt representing Humboldt Baykeeper. The Aquatic Center is located at 921 Waterfront Drive (between I and L Streets) in Eureka. This free public event is sponsored by North Group Redwood Chapter Sierra Club.
