Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces."
COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.
A variety of agencies and providers will be present at one or both
events to offer one-on-one support to elders. Those include Humboldt
Senior Resource Center’s Adult Day Health & Alzheimer’s Services,
Food for People, Family Wellness Court, Eureka Vet Center, Area 1
Agency on Aging, Healy Senior Center, Heart of the Redwoods
Community Hospice, Southern Humboldt Community Clinic and Legal
Services of Northern California. Representatives from DHHS programs,
including Public Health Nursing, Healthy Communities, Public
Guardian’s Office, Veterans Service Office and In-Home Supportive
Services, will also be on hand.
During both events, staff from Public Health’s Fall Prevention Program
will offer Tai Chi instruction to encourage attendees to work on their
balance.
