Counting on Community Symposium: Hope and Healing

First 5 Humboldt will be hosting its annual Counting on Community Symposium: Hope and Healing the week of May 9th-14th. Daily workshops and panel presentations will take place virtually 11:00am Monday through Friday followed by a carefully curated collection of lunchtime Mindful Moments 12:00-12:15pm to encourage folks to take pause before they jump back into their busy days. Speakers this year include Corey Best of Mining for Gold, the 0-8 Mental Health Collaborative, Nature Explore, ACEs Collaborative community grant recipients, Karuk Language teacher, artist and writer, Julian Lang. Mindful Moments will be led by Jodi DiMinno, Heather Graham, Robyn Smith, and Phil Albers. First 5 Humboldt will have a Storywalk posted along the Annie Mary Trail in Blue Lake during the week. Families are invited to get outside and enjoy the story of Senorita Mariposa as they walk along the trail. Free copies of the book will be available first come first served for families at the Blue Lake branch of the Humboldt County Library Wednesday and Saturday 11am-4pm as well as at the Blue Lake Family Resource Center Tuesday-Friday 9am-3pm.
