Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces."
COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.
Darvin DeShazer will present at the Humboldt Bay Mycological Association monthly meeting. The talk will include an introduction to polypores and show several of the common -- and a few of the odd -- polypores found in California. The lecture concludes with a quest of the yellow-pored Ganoderma and the true identity of the California version of the Artist’s Conk. Darvin is a cofounder of Sonoma Mycological Association and serves as their scientific advisor. He also teaches workshops in mushroom identification, truffle ecology and fungal microscopy.
