Backpacking the Lost Coast

June 22-24. This introductory backpacking course takes you on a section of the famous Lost Coast trail, an area that is unique to the entire coast of California. The King Range, an imposing wall of mountains towering 4,000 feet above the black sand beaches, is the reason why this unusual environment has kept itself so private and lost from view. Though the trail is moderately level, the soft sand traverse rocks make it a challenge for any backpacker. Register by Monday before the event date.
