Backcountry Map & Navigation

This seminar is designed to help you get out into the backcountry on your own. Our experienced backpacking instructor will touch on the top ten essentials of equipment, layering, food packs, water purification, Leave No Trace principles, local spots, how to read a topographic map, identify natural terrain features, interpret steepness of slopes, and plan a route. Come and meet other hikers who are looking for local backpacking adventures. Register by 9/30. Held in the RWC Conference Room 124.
