Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Artist Lecture

When: Fri., Feb. 22, 2-3:30 p.m. 2019
Email: rbg@humboldt.edu
Price: Free
Exploring both the physical and conceptual ideas of place, San Francisco-based artist Jenny Odell's collages of Google Satellite image cutouts- views of landfills, waste ponds, parking lots, cargo ships - force viewers to step back and consider fundamental questions of humanity, our presence and impact on the Earth. Directing curiosity toward our own inimitably human landscape, she finds that those things that are most recognizably human (a tangle of carefully engineered water slides, for example) are also the most bizarre, the most unlikely, the most fragile.
