The Clarke Historical Museum's 5th annual Archaeology and Cultural Awareness Day event is designed for people of all ages to learn about what archaeology is, how to excavate artifacts responsibly and to learn about local Native American culture. Activities include demonstrations of flint knapping, local Native American basket weaving, bow making, traditional storytelling, make-and-take artwork, a hands-on mock excavation site suitable for all ages, and professional archaeologists explaining the work they perform. The street directly in front of the museum will be closed for additional activities, Native American vendors and food available for purchase.
