2022 Trinidad to Clam Beach Run 

Close behind the leaders crossing Little River was Todd Rose (#157), of San Francisco, who finished in third place overall.

Alexandra Sciocchetti, of Arcata, dashed through Little River, had the best women's time of 34:30, and finished in 10th place overall.

California State Park lifeguard Shannon Ingram (left), of Trinidad, and her daughter, Rogue, volunteered to help ensure safety at the water crossing at Little River and greeted runners as they passed by.

Laura Holt (#537), of McKinleyville, splashed her way across Little River and finished in 12th place among the women.

Stephen Winterroth, of Eureka, voluntarily dunked himself in the shallow waters of Little River to cool off on this warm January day before heading toward the finish line on Clam Beach.

Long-time race volunteer Richard Verseput, of McKinleyville, had the job of carrying shoes and socks discarded by the racers prior to crossing Little River to the opposite shore where they were loaded into a pickup and driven to the finish line.

Thirteen-year-old Nolan Sefcik, of McKinleyville, showed good form splashing through Little River on his way to placing 130th overall.

Runners faced a flat Clam Beach at low tide after crossing Little River and about 2 miles to go to the finish line.

Runners chose a mix of barefoot or wearing shoes to complete the last 2 miles of the race on Clam Beach.

The bonfire at the finish line of the race offered a perfect place to stretch and warm up for Lucera Love, of McKinleyville.

After wrapping up their rendition of "Rubber Duckie," the HSU Marching Lumberjacks began their enthusiastic dash toward the cold surf.
