An Evening with a Redwood Legend: Photographer Dave Van de Mark

Join the Northcoast Environmental Center as we celebrate Dave Van de Mark and his photography. For over a half century, Van de Mark has photographed the redwood forest he loves as well as the devastation wrought by clear-cut logging. His photographs helped to convince Congress to set aside the original Redwood National Park in 1968, and then to enlarge the park in 1978. Fifty years later, Van de Mark revisited places he photographed during the “battle” to save the Last Redwoods. Come meet Dave and learn about his adventure through photos and stories. Photos available for purchase.
